Borderly counts the days you spend in each country so you can stay on the right side of Schengen, visa and residency limits. It needs no account, no email and no password. Your travel history lives on your device — we never upload it, never sell it and show no ads.
Everything that describes where you have been is stored locally on your iPhone and never leaves it unless you export it yourself:
Deleting the app deletes all of it. Settings → Reset erases it immediately.
If you turn on automatic tracking, Borderly uses significant-change and visit location updates to work out which country you are in. Only the resulting country code for a date is kept — raw coordinates and precise traces are not stored and are never transmitted to us. To turn a coordinate into a country, the app asks Apple's geocoding service; that request is handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy. You can decline or revoke location access at any time in iOS Settings and still use the app with manual entry.
The optional history scan reads only the date and location metadata of photos in your library to rebuild past trips. It happens entirely on your device, no photo or thumbnail is uploaded or copied, and only the derived country-per-day result is saved. You can skip the scan or revoke photo access at any time.
If you allow notifications, Borderly schedules local reminders when a counter approaches its limit. They are generated on your device; we do not operate a push server for them.
Borderly contains no advertising and performs no cross-app tracking. We do not request App Tracking Transparency permission because we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and we never sell or share personal information for advertising.
PDF and CSV reports, shared trip cards and replay videos are created on your device and go only where you send them. Once you share a file, it is outside our control.
We hold no copy of your travel data, so there is nothing for us to delete. Analytics and crash records are retained by Google for up to 14 months and are not linked to your identity. To ask about diagnostics or purchase records tied to your installation, email us at the address below and we will respond within 30 days.
Borderly is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Depending on where you live (for example under GDPR or CCPA) you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your data. Your travel data is already entirely under your control on your device; for anything else, contact us and we will help.
Borderly's counters are an aid, not an immigration or tax ruling. Always confirm your status with the relevant authority.
