Terms of Use — Little Me: Inner Child Journal

1. What this service is

Little Me: Inner Child Journal ("the App") is a private self-reflection journal for adults. You write about what you're feeling, and — when you ask for it — the App generates supportive AI reflections, gentler rewordings of harsh self-talk, and weekly summaries using Google's Gemini models. The App also includes small self-care tools (breathing, grounding, kind words) and an optional illustrated "Little Me" avatar.

The App is not therapy, counseling, a medical or mental-health service, diagnosis, treatment, or emergency support, and it does not replace professional care. AI responses are supportive self-reflection text, not professional advice. If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, contact local emergency services or a crisis line immediately.

2. Eligibility — 18+

You must be at least 18 years old to use the App. If the laws where you live set a higher age of majority, that higher age applies. The App is not directed at minors.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

use the App as a substitute for professional medical or mental-health care, or rely on it in an emergency;
attempt to extract, misuse, or overload the AI services behind the App;
upload photos of anyone other than yourself for avatar creation without their consent, or photos of minors other than your own childhood photos;
violate any applicable law.

We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these rules.

4. Subscriptions

The free tier includes onboarding, one avatar, one guided first reflection with its reframe, the Comfort Now tool, and your most recent journal entries.
Little Me Plus (monthly or annual) unlocks ongoing AI reflections, full history, all tools, and weekly insights.
All payments are processed by Apple. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled in your App Store account settings at least 24 hours before the period ends. Refunds are handled by Apple under App Store rules.
Reasonable usage limits apply to AI features to prevent abuse (for example, daily reflection and monthly avatar-generation caps).

5. Your content and your responsibility for backups

Your journal belongs to you. It is stored encrypted on your device only — we keep no server-side copy. That also means deleting the App, or losing your device without a device backup, permanently deletes your journal, and we cannot recover it.

6. AI-generated content

AI responses are generated automatically and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or a poor fit for your situation. They reflect patterns in language models, not the judgment of a clinician who knows you. Use your own discretion, and consult a professional for anything that matters to your health.

7. Third-party services

AI features are fulfilled through Google's Firebase AI Logic (Gemini models); purchases are operated through Apple and RevenueCat. None of these companies endorses the App.

8. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, for loss of journal data resulting from device loss or App deletion, or for decisions you make based on AI-generated content. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

9. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new "last updated" date; continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
