Terms of Use — LumaMeal

1. What this service is

LumaMeal ("the App") is an iOS app that generates personalized weekly meal plans, recipes, and grocery lists using artificial intelligence, based on preferences you provide (household size, goals, dietary needs, allergies, cuisines, budget, and kitchen setup). The App also lets you scan pantry or meal photos for ingredient and nutrition estimation, and track meals you've logged.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to use the App on your own behalf. If you are a parent or guardian entering information about a child (such as age, for portion sizing), you are responsible for that data and confirm you have the right to provide it.

3. Free use, subscriptions & trials

• Certain features of the App are available without payment (e.g. local plan preview). Full AI-generated weekly plans, recipes, and unlimited regenerations require an active LumaMeal Pro subscription.
• LumaMeal Pro is offered as an auto-renewable subscription, available as a weekly or monthly plan, each of which may include a free trial period (currently 3 days) as shown at checkout.
• Auto-renewal: unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, your subscription automatically renews at the price shown at purchase, and your Apple ID account will be charged for renewal.
• Trial conversion: if you do not cancel before a free trial ends, you will automatically be charged for the subscription you selected.
• Cancellation: you can cancel anytime in your device Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Cancelling stops future renewals but does not refund the current period.
• Payment: all payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. Your payment method is charged by Apple, not by us. Prices are shown in your local currency before purchase.
• Refunds: refund requests are handled by Apple under the App Store's refund policies — we cannot issue refunds directly.
• Subscription management (RevenueCat) may store your purchase and entitlement status to unlock features; see the Privacy Policy for details.

4. AI-generated content & nutrition estimates

• Always verify ingredients yourself before cooking or eating, especially if you have food allergies or intolerances — the App's allergy filters are a best-effort aid, not a guarantee that a recipe is free of a given allergen.
• Do not rely on AI-generated nutrition estimates for medical dosing (e.g. insulin), clinical diets, or any decision where inaccurate calorie/macro figures could cause harm.
• Consult a physician, registered dietitian, or other qualified professional before making significant dietary changes, especially if you are pregnant, nursing, have a medical condition, or are preparing food for children.
• AI-generated food images are illustrative and may not exactly represent the finished dish.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the App for any unlawful purpose or to submit photos or content that infringe someone else's rights or that you do not have the right to submit;
• attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or interfere with the App or its backend services;
• use automated means to scrape, abuse, or overload the App's AI generation features;
• submit photos containing other identifiable people without their consent.

6. Your data & account

The App uses an anonymous account to store your preferences, plans, grocery lists, and logs so they persist across sessions. See the Privacy Policy for full details on what is collected and how it's protected. If you reinstall the App or switch devices, a new anonymous account may be created and prior data may not automatically carry over.

7. Intellectual property

The App, its design, and its underlying software are owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Meal plans, recipes, and images generated for you may be used for your personal, non-commercial use (e.g. cooking, shopping). You may not redistribute, resell, or represent AI-generated content from the App as your own commercial product.

8. Third-party AI & services

The App relies on Google Firebase and Google's Gemini/Imagen AI models (via Firebase AI Logic), and RevenueCat for subscription management. Availability, accuracy, and performance of AI-generated content depend on these third-party services and may be interrupted or degraded outside our control.

9. No warranty and limitation of liability

The App is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or reliability of AI-generated content. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages — including any illness, allergic reaction, or harm arising from reliance on AI-generated recipes, ingredient recognition, or nutrition estimates. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

10. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it from your device and, if applicable, cancelling your subscription through your Apple ID settings. We may suspend or terminate access to the App's backend services if we reasonably believe these terms have been violated.

11. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new "last updated" date; continued use of the App after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws applicable in the developer's jurisdiction of residence, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory consumer-protection laws of your own country provide otherwise.
