Privacy Policy — Mrs. Gadget: Face Search AI

Mrs. Gadget: Face Search AI ("the App") is a face-focused, public-web visual search utility for adults. This policy explains what happens to the photo you search with and what data we keep. The App is 18+ and must only be used to search your own face or that of a consenting adult.

1. How a search handles your photo

• Face detection and cropping happen on your device. The selected face is cropped, re-encoded, and stripped of metadata (EXIF, location) before anything leaves your phone.
• The prepared face crop is sent over an encrypted connection to our backend (Google Cloud, EU region), which holds it in memory only for the duration of the provider call. We do not write your photo to our databases or file storage.
• The crop is forwarded to our search provider (currently SerpApi, which runs a Google Lens visual search) to perform the search. Third-party retention is governed by their own policies — see SerpApi legal & privacy.
• Search results (links, titles, thumbnails of public pages) are kept server-side as short-lived job records that expire automatically within about one hour.
• Your search history, including a small face thumbnail, is stored only on your device. You can delete it at any time in Settings.

2. What we store

• An anonymous account identifier (Firebase Authentication).
• Your credit balance and a purchase/credit ledger (needed to operate subscriptions and credit packs).
• Short-lived search job metadata (status, result links), auto-deleted within about one hour.
• Basic operational data: crash reports and app diagnostics (Firebase Crashlytics/Analytics), and rate-limiting counters to prevent abuse.

3. What we do not do

• We do not use face or photo data for advertising, marketing profiles, attribution, behavioural data mining, or unrelated model training.
• We do not sell your data.
• We do not compile dossiers: no names, addresses, phone numbers, employers, or social graphs are attached to searches.

4. Purchases

Payments are processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat to manage entitlements and Firebase to keep the credit ledger. These processors receive only the data needed to operate purchases (e.g., an anonymous user ID and transaction state) — never your photos.

5. Age policy

The App is 18+. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18, and uploading photos of minors is prohibited. If you believe a minor's photo has been searched, contact us and we will act on it.

6. Your choices and deletion

• Clear local search history and cached thumbnails at any time from Settings.
• Request deletion of your account and server-side data from Settings or by email. Some transaction records may be retained where required for legal or accounting obligations.

7. Legal bases and international transfers

We process the photo you submit solely to perform the search you explicitly request (performance of a contract / your explicit request). Our backend runs in the EU (europe-west1); search providers may process data in other jurisdictions under their own safeguards.

8. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new "last updated" date.
