OBD2 Scanner Pro works without an account. Your vehicle data stays on your device, with two exceptions you control: subscription processing, and AI analysis if you choose to run it.
Vehicle profiles, VIN, mileage, service reminders, diagnostic sessions, trouble codes, recorded sessions, performance results, voltage history and app preferences are stored only on your device. The app has no developer-operated server and does not upload this data.
Bluetooth is used only to discover and communicate with a compatible BLE OBD-II adapter. The app does not use Bluetooth for location, advertising or analytics.
Local network access is used only to open a direct connection to a Wi-Fi OBD-II adapter on the network you joined. The app does not scan for or catalogue other devices.
Location is used on-device to measure speed, distance and acceleration during performance tests, and only while a test is armed or running. The app requests When In Use access only, never Always, and never uploads location data.
Local notifications are scheduled on your device only for maintenance reminders you create. There is no remote notification service.
AI analysis is optional, is a Pro feature, and never runs by itself. When you tap Run AI Analysis the app first shows you the exact list of values it would send, and nothing is transmitted until you confirm on that screen. What is sent: trouble codes, check engine light state, readiness summary, freeze-frame values, current measurements, voltage, and your vehicle's year, make, model and fuel type if you saved one. What is never sent: your VIN, your location, your saved recordings, your reports, and any identifier for you personally. Requests are handled by Firebase AI Logic (Google) and are protected by Apple App Check, which is why the app carries no AI provider key. Google processes the request to generate the response; see Google's privacy documentation for its handling. If you never use the feature, nothing is ever sent.
Subscriptions are processed by Apple. Purchases are managed through RevenueCat, which receives your purchase history and an anonymous app-generated user identifier so it can tell the app whether your subscription is active. Neither the app nor RevenueCat receives your payment details — those stay with Apple. RevenueCat is not used for advertising.
PDF reports and CSV exports are generated on your device. They leave the app only when you share them yourself.
The app contains no advertising SDKs and no cross-app tracking, and it does not request the advertising identifier. No general-purpose product analytics is collected: Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics are deliberately not included in this app, and only the components needed for AI analysis and App Check are used.
Settings → Data lets you delete recorded sessions, garage data, maintenance history, or reset all app data. Deleting the app removes everything stored on your device. Subscription status is managed by Apple and is not affected.
The app is a general-purpose vehicle diagnostic utility and is not directed at children.
