Privacy Policy — Mellu

Your cycle is personal. Mellu stores your cycle logs, symptoms, moods and notes only on your device. We do not run a server that stores them, we never sell your data, and your health information is never used for advertising.

No account

Mellu requires no sign-up or login. We do not collect your name, email address, or phone number.

What stays on your device

Everything you enter stays in the app's local storage on your iPhone, including:

period start and end dates, flow, cycle and period length settings,
pain level, symptoms, moods, and other daily logs,
free-text notes,
optional birth year and reminder preferences.

Cycle estimates are calculated on your device. This data is not uploaded to any database of ours, and it is never shared with third parties.

Apple Health (HealthKit)

If you choose to connect Apple Health, Mellu asks for read-only access to your menstruation (period flow) data from Health's Cycle Tracking. It uses this only to fill in your cycle history and improve your estimates inside the app. You can connect during onboarding or from More → Apple Health, and it's entirely optional.

Health data is read and stored only on your device. It is never uploaded to our servers or any third party.
Health data is never sold, never used for advertising or marketing, and never sent to analytics or crash reporting.
Mellu does not write any data to Apple Health.
Health data is not stored in iCloud by Mellu.
You can remove Mellu's access anytime in the Health app (Profile → Apps → Mellu) or in iOS Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices. Turning off "Import from Apple Health" stops future syncing, and "Delete all data" removes everything that was imported.

Analytics and crash reports

We use Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics (Google) to understand which features are used and to fix crashes. These collect app-usage events (for example "onboarding completed" or "daily log saved"), device model, iOS version, and an app-instance identifier. They never include your dates, cycle predictions, symptom or mood values, pain levels, note text, or any data read from Apple Health — only the fact that an action happened. Firebase Remote Config is used to switch app features on or off.

Purchases

Subscriptions are processed by Apple through your Apple Account. RevenueCat, our purchase-infrastructure provider, processes an anonymous app-generated identifier and purchase receipt information to validate access. We never see your payment details. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.

No tracking, no ads

Mellu contains no advertising and performs no cross-app tracking. We do not request App Tracking Transparency permission because we do not track you.

Notifications

Reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device. They use neutral wording so nothing personal appears on your lock screen.

Your control

Export your data anytime from More → Privacy & data → Export data.
Delete everything from More → Privacy & data → Delete all data. Deleting the app also removes it.

Sharing an export file is always your action; you choose where it goes.

Children

Mellu is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Not medical advice

Mellu provides general wellness information and estimates. It is not a medical device and does not provide diagnosis, treatment, or contraceptive guidance.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version is posted at this page with a new date.
